Green Tea or Black Tea ~~

Which is the best morning tea?

The decision of which you wish to choose on any given day is probably going to depend on your experience with both.  They each have different flavors.  Green tea tends to have a delicate flavor and black tea has a more full bodied taste.

Black tea has more caffeine than most of the other varieties and when made strongly can be a satisfying alternative for coffee.  Breakfast teas and Earl Grey are favorites and black tea can also be found with flavor infusions that add another dimension to the taste of your morning beverage.  Some blends have spices, dried fruits or flowers sifted in and the flavors are released as the tea steeps.  Tea has long been enjoyed with the addition of milk and a touch of sugar or honey.

Green tea is a gentler beverage that comes from the same plant but is prepared, after picking, in a different way.  The result is a less caffeinated drink and a more relaxing effect as you start your morning with a cup of green tea.  A stronger brew will not increase the caffeine for a jolt, it will only create a more bitter drink.  Green tea has a distinctive flavor that some do not appreciate and suppliers are marketing many types of flavored tea.  Studies have shown that people who regularly drink green tea can burn an average of 70 extra calories a day.  It’s something to think about.

Of course, green tea or black tea, whichever you choose, both have many health benefits.  They are chock full of anti-oxidants and have been shown to help the body regulate blood sugar.  A few cups of tea will also add to the vitamins and minerals that we need on a regular basis as well as potassium.

So, try black tea and green tea.  Keep them in your cupboard so you can decide on any given day which will be the best brew for your upcoming day.
