Herbal Tea, also referred to as a tisane, is a name applied to a non-tea herbal infusion. Dried fruits or herbs
infused with hot water make a refreshing drink.
Tisanes are made with mixtures of fresh or dried flowers, seeds, nuts, roots, or leaves. Many other botanicals
can be used to create a tastful and beneficially healthful drink. Pour boiling water over your choice of mixture
and let it steep for a few minutes. Strain the tea and add sweetener, if desired.
Herbal teas, without black or green tea, are typically caffeine free. They all have many health
benefits.
Peppermint or Spearmint leaves, fresh or dried, will aid the digestion.
A calming tea is Lemon Balm, fragrant and soothing, it's believed to have anti-depressant properties.
Camomile tea will help you get a good nights rest.
Flavored teas are created by sometimes adding black, green, white, or oolong tea to make a flavorful brewed drink.
Chai tea, for example is a black tea brewed with spices. Usually cinnamon, cloves, ginger and pepper. Earl Grey tea
is black tea combined with bergamot, jasmine tea is Chinese tea with jasmine flowers.
Ayurvedic teas are delicious teas made from fruits and spices. These teas have their roots in traditional East
Indian Culture which goes back thousands of years and drinking them helps to maintain a healty balance of your
body.
