Iced Black Tea:

It’s Not Just for Hot Weather

Most of us are used to grabbing a cup of coffee or a soft drink several times a day.  Adding iced black tea to your available drinks is really very easy and may even convince you to give up ‘store bought’ canned drinks.

Brew up a large batch of strong tea and keep it in a pitcher in the refrigerator.  If you like sweet tea, add your favorite sweetener, fruit juice or anything else you like in your tea and have this great drink at the ready all year round.

A batch of tea costs just pennies and has a better chance of aiding your well being than soft drinks.  There are non-chemical alternatives to sugar that you might try.  This will help you reduce calories and could help with weight loss if needed.  You may even be able to just keep reducing the sugar in the iced tea until you have created a new tolerance for less sugar in your diet.  Even with sugar this is, most certainly, better than something that might have lot of unpronounceable chemicals in the container. You just have to find your favorite iced tea recipes.

It is such a refreshing treat, you don’t even have to remind yourself that iced black tea has all of the healthful properties of hot tea and studies have shown that tea helps control blood pressure and can aid in reducing cholesterol thereby reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks and the like.

For those of us who like extra sweet tea, try one half sweet lemonade and one half sweetened tea.  This is a favorite of a very famous golfer.  It’s yummy and with lots of ice is a real treat that will surpass most soft drinks.  You might like to make iced tea from flavored black teas that you will find in your favorite specialty tea shop.

Hot weather or cooler seasons, iced black tea, kept at the ready in a nice container in the refrigerator will be a wonderful ‘pick-me-up’ at any time.
